Phelps spent his childhood years in Illinois before heading to New England for his prep school and college education, graduating from Harvard College in 1976.  After college, Phelps and his wife, Pam, moved to Wyoming and spent a year at his family’s ranch near Pinedale.  In 1977, Phelps’ business career began as a licensed real estate agent in Jackson.  After several years selling real estate, Phelps returned to Wyoming Law School where he received his degree with honors in 1983.

Pam and Phelps raised their three daughters in Jackson Hole spending countless hours on ski hills, equestrian events, soccer games and fly fishing.  They have been active in the Jackson community serving on boards for the Chamber of Commerce, Jackson Hole Ski Club and Jackson Hole Land Trust.  Phelps’ interests include his family ranch, fly fishing, powder skiing and golf.  Pam and Phelps enjoy travelling in their new RV, visiting their children and grandchildren across the country.

Phelps’ practice includes the representation of individuals and families primarily in the areas of Real Estate, Business Planning and Commercial transactions.
